Here it is the 1st of September, in the Midwest and I thought it best to wear my arm warmers on the ride to work this morning. Now compare that to last week when I was still noticing how humid it was, not necessarily hot, when I would arrive at work. I've also thought it strange the past week or two that other BJ'ers were posting that they were just shedding their arm warmers and other spring gear because summer had finally arrived - one guy I remember lives on the Eastern Seaboard.
One thing that helped convince be to ignore the calendar and wear the arm warmers today is that I kind of wish I had them last night on my Monday Night Ride. During that ride I hooked up with Tom & Curt, and we took turns pulling our little pace line, but towards the end one of them commented how cool it had gotten - cooler than the low-70's temp around start time. I had been thinking for most of the last half of the ride that even though it was a little brisk, having the arm warmers on would be on OK thing - wouldn't get to hot wearing them. So, this morning, know that the temp was in the mid to upper 50's, I felt it wise to break them out and put them on. And I am glad I did!
