Erica and I met at Mayberry park close to the north end of the Cleveland Park section of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. We took off to discover the trail and get a little exercise. The trail starts in a beat up section of town but quickly winds into the rejuvenated downtown Falls Parks. We trekked along the Reedy River along the falls and downstream into Cleveland Park. We passed the F-86 Sabre mounted along the trail and wound our way through Cleveland Park. The trail then follows the Reedy down behind the Cleveland Street YMCA and the big church at the intersection of Cleveland and Faris. We then climbed the hill up to the church, turned onto Cleveland Street and went to the trail's end at the Reedy River at the rear entrance to Greenville Tech. We cut across back campus back to Faris and took it back to the trail. Then we followed the trail back the way that we came. It was around 7.5 miles and took us about 50 to 55 minutes to complete. This is my first ride on my new Schwinn and I was starting to get "saddle sores" after 6 miles. The trail had several bikers, but it was loaded with joggers and walkers. It was an interesting ride. We'll see how I do tomorrow at work!
