It turned out to be a good day for a ride. When I started it was overcast & 30% chance of rain, increasing to 50% by noon, but the clouds thinned and there was some sunshine through the afternoon and the temp stayed mild. Pretty much rode all day with friends Paul & Jen and we just took our time - no one was in a rush.
The roads were pretty good for the most part, only a couple stretches of gravel aside from the turns & such. The route was a bit of a mystery as the lake isn't all that far from Trenton. The lake was around mile 20 to 25, and just a brief glimps at that. The 100 mile route diverged from the 50 mile route around mile 48, as the 50 was about to return to Trenton. The extra 50 loop took us to Germantown, Daminsville, New Baden & Summerfield.
