Joe was in town late in the day and we took a short ride. It was a pretty cold damp day with a biting north wind. We actually didn't have much time and went out on the Bronson Hill course to stay in the hills and woods and avoid the wind as much as possible and still get in a good workout. We headed up Dug Road and I had a flat. Gash was large enough that the sealant didn't work very well. Pumped the tire back up and hoped that it would hold enough air to get me back home, since we were only a couple of miles into the ride. Joe opted to finish off the hill than double back. Tire wouldn't hold any pressure though and didn't get very far. Tried putting a tube in the tire which I have probably a less than fifty percent success rate since the tires are so tight it often pinches the tube during installation. Lucked out today though and the tire held air though it was still a little on the soft side from using the hand pump. Still had a short window to finish the ride before dark so headed back up the hill. Hooked back up with Joe as he was headed back down, and we continued on the ride. Ride went fairly well after that though we didn't put much effort into it. It got a bit on the cold side when we came out of the woods and into the north wind on the top section of Bronson Hill. Got some good speed on the downhills despite the soft tire. Got some pleasant miles in despite the poor weather and flat tire.
