Have a busy weekend coming up and wanted to try the legs out and see if there was anything left as didn't really want to drive to a race or century and drop out after a couple of miles because the legs are dead, as gas is getting too expensive. Weather was ideal for a ride with the temperature just shy of eighty. Started out spinning into the headwind and things went well for the first three or four miles. I had hoped to get up to the hollow with an eighteen which would give me a shot at a twenty average that was my goal for the day. Didn't even come close but the seventeen I did get was okay for the headwind. Climb went well and legs felt good up the second third of the course and had picked up the average to eighteen at the turn unto SR 414. Had a strong climb up most of the incline on the highway but faltered a little at the top and wasn't able to keep on top of the big gear to the downhill. Lost a little on the headwind back to Montour but felt good to ride fast again after struggling for a week to just keep the legs turning. Ride wasn't great but at least the legs put out enough wattage to feel confident I wouldn't get dropped in the first mile of the race tomorrow.
