Spent quite a bit of time and effort removing the broken seat post from my frame but finally succeeded without damaging the carbon frame. I was under the impression that ionic bonds weren't a problem with carbon but found out that some frames including mine use a metal sleeve inside the carbon seat tube. It was a bit on the cool side today and went for a short climbing ride. It was a repeat of last week's short ride and I wanted to try and top a fifteen mile an hour average speed. I had to stop a couple of times and make adjustments to my saddle but got it roughed in before the climbing started. Seemed to climb up Dug Rd a little better today and did much better up the slight climb through Moreland. Still wasn't good enough though as after the climb I calculated I would have to average twenty over the rest of the ride including Bronson Hill. That didn't happen but had a decent climb and was much faster on the downhill sections. Wind was lighter today which helped but only was able to pull a fourteen and one half average. Might have lost a bit of time with saddle adjustments but the bottom line is I need to climb Dug Rd much faster, Stiil a good fall ride.
