Weather rebounded a little and got a seventy degree day rather than the recent fifties and sixties. Legs felt a little better although I am pretty sure I won’t get any snap back unless I take a long layoff from the bike. Had no desire to start taking time off with such a fine day today. Had warm sunshine and a moderate south wind to help me on my way to Geneva. Took the express route and stayed on the highway rather than the scenic route. The grape harvest is getting underway and was treated to some wonderful smells and great lake views. My cadence seems to be locked in around eighty RPMs. I would occasionally notice and try to pick it up a little but would soon tire, and it would drift back down. I seemed to be able to hold the eighty without much effort though and was able to average seventeen on the way up and resigned myself to some steady cranking. Stayed on the express route on the way back and had intended to stop at McDonald’s for some high fat treats but really didn’t feel hungry as I rolled over the top of the climb to Ovid. I still had a full water bottle left and thought I wouldn’t have problem doing the last twenty five miles without refueling. So I got a pleasant eighty plus miles in without straining the body on a warm fall day.
