Goal was to do some aggressive climbing today but ran into trouble with the first climb up Steuben St when I started getting a sharp pain in my knee while climbing out of the saddle. It appears I did a little damage with yesterday's hard efforts. Knee worked okay in the saddle so ended up spinning the climbs today and spinning the flats. Body appears to be coming apart with weight drifting up, constant nasal drip from a sinus infection and now the knee. Still it turned out to be a pleasant ride once I pushed through the headwind to Coopersplains and caught the tailwind. The second big climb up Whiskey Creek was another non event as it was back to easy spinning. Body may be failing but the season is running down as only have one race and one century left on the schedule. I was hoping to finish strong but if decline continues I may be dragging myself across the finish. Still enjoyed the sunshine and pavement today.
