I planned to ride early today to beat the heat, but life interfered and I didn't get away until late morning. As soon as I was on the bike the chain was dragging on the front derailleur again. I started to turn back, but decided to ride to the Great Escape (LBS) where I bought the bike and had the bottom bracket recently replaced. This will be the third time that I have had it in about that derailleur and the bottom bracket. They took it in and when the mechanic put it on the stand he said "Who put this bottom bracket on?" I pointed out the guilty mechanic and he took it to him and talked with him for a couple of minutes and came back and said "He will fix it for you." He had ordered the wrong bottom bracket and it didn't fit right which is why I have had to keep bringing it back. While waiting in the store PJ (a salesman)and I kept going back and forth with each other. PJ is an odd character that I like a lot. I have ridden with him a couple of times, but it has been a while. PJ was also kind enough to give me some energy bars for the rest of my ride.
Once the bike was finished I headed out to work my way to Lake Conestee. But by then it was very hot. The heat isn't too much of a problem for me, but the high sun is. It really takes the life out of me. So my average speed was way down, but it was a profitable ride.
