The state has finally gotten around to paving SR 13 although at this point just the traffic lanes. Hopefully they will continue and pave the shoulders. Planned on an easy day today with two mild highway climbs and hopefully a final tailwind driven finish. Stayed in the saddle and got up Odessa Hill with a few seconds to spare below the you suck turn around ten minute mark. Was unable to get my cadence up today as the legs appear to be a little worn from yesterday's climbing. Had a dismal ride to the junction in the headwind and was a little fearful of the next climb until I found the new pavement. The climbing portion has a decent foot wide shoulder but on the downhill side it narrows to around six inches. Wind really seemed to be whipping at times and had to work a bit on the downhill. Once through the roundabout in Horseheads it was all cross winds and tailwinds home. Felt fast on the way back but really didn't push it with an intention of another long climb in the morning.
