Normally on Wednesday I do a longish ride. Today though the weather was very unsettled with high winds and showers throughout the day. Winds were forecast to be out of the south in the morning and out of the north in the afternoon with gusts in both instances reaching into the twenties. Had little desire to do a long ride in the rain and wind while fighting a sinus infection so split the day into two rides. Went out early before the south wind got serious and took a quick ride up Fitzpatrick over the Middle Road. Didn't do much on the climb, but hit the rollers into the wind fairly hard. Coasted down the back nine with a tailwind to finish off the morning ride. Hit a couple of showers but didn't even compare to the soaking I had gotten on Monday. Took an afternoon ride once the wind had shifted. Started off with a steep climb up Skyline and had a less than impressive climb. Couldn't come out of the saddle and couldn't generate any power in the saddle. Pretty much suffered up the climb and then got to push another few miles of uphill into a brisk wind. Felt decent on the morning ride but suffered in the North wind. Made Logan eventually and coasted downhill into Hector than caught an express tailwind home. Rough day on the bike. Legs are beat.
