Jacque hinted at mowing the yards (mostly leaf pickup in the front)
Well, pretty much spent the morning on the couch & in the recliner watching some TV and surfing the web. The after lunch, Jacque said something about going for a bike ride - not me going out for a ride, but us going, which usually means loading the bikes into truck, driving over to Creve Coeur Park and riding around the lake and out the extension across the Missouri River to St Charles. That is what we did.
It was very windy out there, but not a full fledge headwind (on the way out the extension). It was kind of from the front-right, yet is some places it seemed like it was swirlling. We made it out to the bridge over the river, and I lost sight (the bike term is 'dropped') Jacque as I went around the clover-leaf that takes you up to the bride-path. I rolled on over, then decided to take the descent down to the Katy Trail, just so I can turn around and climb back up the connector to the trail - just for the challenge of that climb.
As I was making my way back across the bridge, there were some folks in the look-out - a little scenic viewing spot the juts out of the way of path and has a little bench for those that might want to rest - and I thought I heard someone (Jacque) call out my name as I passed, then there was a loud whistle. I know Jacque can't whistle loud like that but I slowed down & did a u-turn and found Jacque there with a family of four. Surprising to me, she pushed on past where I thought she would have turned around (before the bridge) and was waiting there for me, and then was helping the fmaily with a family picture.
Then we continued heading back across the river with a somewhat tailwind from the left side and eventually to our truck. There were lots & lots of people - very few spots available in the Sailboat Cove lot with some cars parked in the grass along the entrance drive. So the trail was crowded & pact, especially heading around the north end of the lake, then again as we came around the south end of the lake and most of the way up along the east side. Dodging & negotiating the pedestrians, dogs, joggers and child cyclist was more of an issue than the wind.
