Tried once again to break the twenty mile an hour barrier on Johnson Hollow. Wind was out of the southwest which hampered the first seven miles of climbing grade and fell a little short of the time I needed at the base of the climb. Had a mediocre early climb and rode steady on rest of the climbing portion of the ride but failed to keep the average increasing. Tried to make it up with the downhill tailwind combination to Watkins but came up short again. Tried to hammer the last two miles on the flats back to Montour but totally lacked any speed and just held the pace. Pulled a nineteen but just don’t seem to have the legs this year to make the twenty.
