 Petco and SRC
Today I rode the Trek from the house to Cleveland Park. Just past the tennis courts I could hear a scooter in my blind spot. I called out "Ken!" as Ken and Steve Y both have scooters. It was Ken wanting to know where I was going. I told him Petco then took the left side of the Y while he took the right. I followed mu old bike route going to Petco, but decided to go straight through on East Parkins Mill Road and catch the new trail . Once I was to the Bi-Lo I could see that the trail was closed. Now I was in a pickle. It would be a long way to back track to Ridge Road, so I cut through their parking lot and worked my way to Henderson Road to go through Camperdown Academy and the new apartment complex to the trail along Verdae. But the trail was closed there and I had nowhere to go. So I rode through the truck parking for the construction site to get to where the trail was opened. I followed it to the ICAR and to Petco.

At Petco the same three kittens are still there. I got them out and they played and played while I cleaned their cages. Then I went in and played with them before returning them to their cages. I made a quick pass through REI to see what was on sale (nothing that I was interested in) and off I went. This time I did follow my old work route. But Sara Collins Elememtary has just let out when I passed by it and I got caught up in that mess! I rode back to the park then on to the Cancer Survivors’ Center and then to the swamp Rabbit Cafe.

At the cafe and had a bowl of potato soup with pieces of stecca and a couple of Brazilian cheese puffs. I also had a pint of chocolate milk and bought a peanut butter chocolate chunk cookie for Cissi. I rode back into town, through the parks, and climbed the big hill to get home.
