I left home on the Surly this morning, checking out the new front shifter. I was going to meet Don Y at Cross Fit, but he left at 10:30 and I missed him by about 8 minutes. I rode up the trail and took a long loop around Furman then rode out to the north end of the trail. Don was at the TRee House while I was at the north end. He left while I was coming back to Travelers Rest. I stopped at the TRee House and got a chicken sandwich made into a salad with a "Buddy the Elf" (cafe au lait with maple) and I took the fruit cup home for Cissi and also bought chocolate chip cookies and an apple cinnamon with pecans muffin for Cissi. I greeted Gene and Ragan at the TRee House then headed back south.
I made the Furman loop in the opposite direction and also looped the rugby pitch parking lot and the chapel parking lots to up my mileage (I needed 37.2 miles to reach 4K for the year.). Then I went south and took the Lakeview spur to Old Buncombe Road and the Orange Line back to Hampton Station. I crossed the Hampton Avenue Bridge and took Washington back to Broad Street then cut down to Linky Stone Park to get back on the trail. I followed the trail back to the zoo and took my regular route home.
