Today I drove to Cleveland Park to ride Ken’s Sunday ride. Six of us met at the zoo to ride - Ken, Mark, Steve S, Bill, Greg, and me. We left the zoo and rode through the new Cancer Survivor’s Center, then up through Falls Park, and north up the trail. We stopped to regather at Linky Stone Park, then again at the Pocket Park, and finally at the lake on the Furman campus. We met Neal and Ramona while riding north. We rode around the lake as the Bell Tower played music. Then we rode on to the northern side of Travelers Rest. The Forest is closed so now we rode to McDonalds. I had a decaf and ordered a 4-piece nuggets, but the 6-piece nuggets were on sale and cost less than the 4-piece. The 6 of us ate and chatted there. We finally left McDonalds and rode back to the trail. I took the lead and took off with a good pace. I wanted to see how much I could push it since I have ridden very little. I held that pace for a couple of miles then BIll passed me and he set the pace. Mark was parked at Furman so he dropped off there while the rest of us headed south. We kept up a solid pace on down to the cafe, but my legs were tiring by then. I held on to the group but I knew that I was done. We went back down through the parks and back to the vehicles at the tennis courts in Cleveland Park.
