If my truck had a Facebook page...
If my truck had a Facebook page or Twitter account, here are some of the posts you’d see from over the past 60+ days:

Jan 30 – Hit a patch of ice on the way home from work that sent me careening into the guardrail. Ended up with extensive damage to the right front fender, tire and across the front. The occupant was shaken up but not injured, as I was towed to a body shop for evaluation – the same body shop used to repair the driver’s door 17 months ago.

Feb 7 – initial evaluation concludes over $4,500 worth of damage, exceeding the state allowed ratio of damage to market value, so the insurance company classifies me as a total loss. There will be further evaluation in the next couple days to get a little more detail to the extent of the damage in order to determine if a restoration would be viable.

Feb 11 – Final evaluation concludes $7,100 for restoration. The decision was made to go forward with this process – life will go on.

Feb 25 –Since my tires were purchased last May, replacement falls under the Road Hazard Warranty, so the damaged right front tire & wheel, along with the new, replacement wheel, are be taken to where the tires were purchased, so the new tire can be placed on the new wheel.

Feb 26 – New wheel with the new tire have arrived back from the tire shop. Repairs are wrapping up!

Mar 8 – Finally completed and ready for pick-up! Well, almost completed. As it turns out, the pin stripe that was on hand is the wrong color, blue not light green, and the style is not long manufactured, so all pin striping has been removed, and could replaced in the near future should the owners come up with an acceptable alternative. None the less, its time to go home!

Mar 24 – Can you believe St Louis received more than 12 inches of snow in one day – in the end of March no less. The driveway & car beside me have been cleaned off, but not me.

Mar 26 – Temps have been fairly mild the last couple days, and all the snow on my roof, windshield and hood has melted off.

Mar 30 – After sitting in the driveway for a week, a bike is loaded into the bed and its time to go for a drive. However, its discovered that there is a crack in my windshield. It starts just under the inside end of the passenger side wiper, runs up about 5 or 6 inches before arcing towards the driver’s side for about another 8 inches.

Apr 4 – Been sitting in the driveway since returning from last Sat’s bike ride, waiting for a new windshield, which was installed this afternoon. Ready to roll again!

Apr 6 – Out running errands and taking care of business, and when idling at stop lights & such, the RPM shows I’m running faster than normal – around 1,500 RPM instead of 700 or so. Sitting in Park or Drive, RPM’s are at 3,000. The Check Engine light comes on during this. The code is downloaded from my computer and indicates Idle Air Control overspeed error – meaning the ECM has detected an engine speed greater than desired.
