Comments: Started to Blue Diamond, but flatted shortly after meeting the club riders. Same pattern of cut in tire. I suspect it is from the wheel rim. Going to 28 mm tires may have something to do with it.
Weather Conditions: Warm with strong winds. I thought they might cancel.

Comments: Solo first part of Split Ends ride. Just staying close to home in case I flat again. Made it ok, but only a short ride.
Casual and moderate effort.
Weather Conditions: Hot! Started at 90° and ended at 100°. I cut ride short due to the heat. Light winds.

Comments: Solo "Split Ends" route. This route stays close to home, so If I had more flats I could call wife to pick me up again. Fortunately I was flat free.
Moderate effort today.
My Garmin battery died mid route so stats are guesses.
Weather Conditions: Warm to hot. Started at 80° Light winds.

Comments: Split Ends solo. With no fear of flats I went faster, and my Garmin was fully charged. high effort today, but couldn't maintain 19 mph. Great workout, though. Legs are a little sore.
I added a few miles hoping to round out to 40 miles, but still a few miles short.
Weather Conditions: Start at 80° with no wind. Winds picked up later when I was near the M hotel. LV blvd was fun downhill with the wind.

Comments: Red Rock Valley from Mountain's Edge Park.
A club ride with 11 riders, plus we picked up two more who rode with us from the overlook.
Good workout. Moderate to high effort most of the way. Although, on the long downhill I was looking for a higher gear.
Weather Conditions: Start at 81° with moderate winds. I think the starting headwinds helped me stay with the lead riders until we got into the valley. i didn't notice winds behind us on the downhill, but that may be why I did so well.

Comments: To Pedal N Pour bike and drink shop.
This was a B/C club ride, so when I caught up with them it was a casual ride. About three miles from home I came across an abandoned vehicle in a turn lane. I passed it thinking I had to get to the group, but went back thinking there might be a person in trouble in the car. nope, empty. So I called police to investigate.
Then it was a catch-up ride to find the club. That was a moderate pace.
Weather Conditions: Warm to hot. Starting at 83° with very light winds.

Comments: Club ride through Red Rock Canyon. Two other riders who took it easy on me. I did a lot of work climbing, then took it easy on the downhills. Even though I was drinking a lot, I was dehydrated when I got home. I think I lost three pounds of water on the ride.
Weather Conditions: Hot with moderate winds. the winds slowed us by three mph in places. finally got tailwinds near the end.

Comments: Club ride to Boulder City. Due to high heat, most of the club decided to cut the ride short. One rider and I did the whole route. I started on a high pace, but slowed for the other rider.
Weather Conditions: Started at 92° and ended at 102°, so it was hot. In fact one hill was miserable because the wind was the same speed and direction. It gave us no breeze as we labored uphill.

Comments: Solo Split Ends. Moderate effort as it was so hot. I was also feeling weak. Still managed a reasonable speed.
Weather Conditions: Start at 90° With moderate winds. Out in the open winds were around 20 mph.

Comments: Mountain's Edge club ride, but I didn't ride much with them. I started and finished in a different place, and while with them I was either in front or behind. Spent little of it with them.
I felt good and did well in spite of the wind.
Weather Conditions: Scheduled winds of 5 mph were 15 to 20. Temps started in mid-80's.

Comments: Through Red Rock Valley: a club ride with four others.
High effort in many places. on the way back I coasted a bit, but I got quite a workout today. My leg muscles are twitching.
Weather Conditions: Hot and windy! Started at 84°. Finished at 98°.
