Comments: Club ride to Lake Las Vegas with ten riders.
Casual to start. I was reserving energy for the climb in lake Las Vegas. I hadn't done this climb for five years or more. My gearing changed then and I wasn't sure if I could do it. I MADE IT! |
| Weather Conditions: Warm to hot. Light winds for most, but we got hit by 15 to 18 mph headwinds when we didn't expect it. |

Comments: Ride through Red Rock Canyon. I rode 14 miles to and from the club ride. So I was on my own half of the ride.
I did a lot of work today. There were some casual sections with the club, but most was medium to high effort. |

Comments: Club ride Split Ends with 20+ riders.
Felt strong. Climbed faster than riders usually faster than me. I still wasn't hammering, though. |

Comments: Club ride to Boulder City.
Rear shifter motor stopped working, so I couldn't get out of low gear. I tried re-pairing it and re-setting it to no avail.
I had to cut my ride short and go home very slowly. It was frustrating!
I took it to the bike shop yesterday (Thurs) and expect the new part today (Fri). |

Comments: Club ride to Jean with one other rider. Slow going out, then had three flats at Jean. I had to get wife to pick me up.
I wanted to get more miles, but that's the way it goes.
Flat was due to only using one layer of rim tape. One of the spoke holes opened and punctured the tubes. |

Comments: Club ride to Blue Diamond with two other riders. Casual pace for most.
NO FLATS! I sanded the sharp parts of my rims, put on two layers of rim tape and used new tires.
Riding was fine except that I had pulled a shoulder muscle a few days ago and it hurt to use it. |
