Comments: Half mile into ride I flatted. This was weird because four inches of tube came out between rim and tire. AND this is after replacing four flats yesterday. I put a new tire and tube on, but still had a problem. The valve stem was not fully seated so I felt a bump every rotation.
I finally fixed that and got a ride in. I did some work, but no hills. |

Comments: Club ride to Boulder City. Actually the club ride was to Railroad Pass, but I didn't see the leaders turn, so I went on.
This started and finished at Optic Gallery who sponsored the ride. lots of hills so I got a good workout. I got ten extra miles since I went off route.
Oh, my Garmin was not fully charged so it turned off half way. Some stats are intelligent guesses. |

Comments: Club ride to Blue Diamond. I had a tough time with flats today. When I started to ride I felt the thump thump thump of an out of round tire. I came home and my tube blew out and broke the bead of the tire. Changing to a new tire and used tube, I found the tube leaking, so had to use a new tube.
The club had gone ahead, and I almost caught them at the South Point Hotel. but had to stop at a light. I kept hitting red lights, so I finally got with them at Mountain's Edge Park.
Nearing home another rider, Tony, got a flat, so I cycled home to get my car and picked him up.
I got a good workout today. |

| Comments: Club ride through Red Rock Canyon with four other riders. I held back on the first part of the ride so when we came to the biggest hill I didn't fall behind as much as other rides. In past rides I was slower than today. I feel good. |
| Weather Conditions: Perfect temp to start at 66°. Winds were low until near the end where I had to work hard to do 26 mph on the downhill. I usually do 30 there with less effort. |

I did OK, but stayed with a slower rider half of the way on the hills. We stopped for a rider with a flat, but couldn't fix his tubular tire leak.
I had a flat just getting to the start, then another as I got to Jean. Repairs got me home.
Oh, I stayed with slow rider on the way back for about 8 miles. |

Good workout. Moderate to high effort most of the way. Although, on the long downhill I was looking for a higher gear.

This was a B/C club ride, so when I caught up with them it was a casual ride. About three miles from home I came across an abandoned vehicle in a turn lane. I passed it thinking I had to get to the group, but went back thinking there might be a person in trouble in the car. nope, empty. So I called police to investigate.
Then it was a catch-up ride to find the club. That was a moderate pace. |
