Motorist nearly hit me as i was waiting to make a left turn. He made a left crossing my path and cut the corner so his car was only six inches from me.
Oh, my central shifter battery died so I was a little late getting to the start. |

Once I hit the downhill I could have dropped everyone, but tried to give a little draft instead. The recumbent doesn't give much though. |

Winds were very low to start but when we got into the open we had headwinds of 10 to 15 mph. Where I did 32 mph two days ago, I only did 25. |

Comments: Half mile into ride I flatted. This was weird because four inches of tube came out between rim and tire. AND this is after replacing four flats yesterday. I put a new tire and tube on, but still had a problem. The valve stem was not fully seated so I felt a bump every rotation.
I finally fixed that and got a ride in. I did some work, but no hills. |

Comments: Club ride to Blue Diamond. I had a tough time with flats today. When I started to ride I felt the thump thump thump of an out of round tire. I came home and my tube blew out and broke the bead of the tire. Changing to a new tire and used tube, I found the tube leaking, so had to use a new tube.
The club had gone ahead, and I almost caught them at the South Point Hotel. but had to stop at a light. I kept hitting red lights, so I finally got with them at Mountain's Edge Park.
Nearing home another rider, Tony, got a flat, so I cycled home to get my car and picked him up.
I got a good workout today. |

I did OK, but stayed with a slower rider half of the way on the hills. We stopped for a rider with a flat, but couldn't fix his tubular tire leak.
I had a flat just getting to the start, then another as I got to Jean. Repairs got me home.
Oh, I stayed with slow rider on the way back for about 8 miles. |

Comments: Split Ends solo. With no fear of flats I went faster, and my Garmin was fully charged. high effort today, but couldn't maintain 19 mph. Great workout, though. Legs are a little sore.
I added a few miles hoping to round out to 40 miles, but still a few miles short. |

Good workout. Moderate to high effort most of the way. Although, on the long downhill I was looking for a higher gear.

This was a B/C club ride, so when I caught up with them it was a casual ride. About three miles from home I came across an abandoned vehicle in a turn lane. I passed it thinking I had to get to the group, but went back thinking there might be a person in trouble in the car. nope, empty. So I called police to investigate.
Then it was a catch-up ride to find the club. That was a moderate pace. |

Comments: Solo Split Ends. Right hip seemed to pop in place during preride stretches. The muscles were still sore, but seemed to get better through the ride. Right knee cap, that I injured years ago at Ragbrai, was acting up. It hurt to support me when I had to stop.
In spite of these problems I still passed an electric bike. He caught me at a light and turned off before I could catch him again.

Comments: Club ride to Red Rock Canyon with four other riders. Moderate pace. I lagged behind on the steepest climb, but once at the top I coasted a lot. Legs feel good.
One of our rider's chain came off and stuck in his chainring. A helper injured his finger when the gear slipped fast. |

| Comments: Club ride to Boulder City with three other riders. Very low pace for most. Started into the sun, so I had to go slow using one hand as a visor. I did do a couple of sprints and a high effort on some of the climbs. |
| Weather Conditions: Cold! I thought I would never get warm. Started off downhill so I wasn't working to warm me. Coming back from Boulder I was coasting against the wind. |

| Weather Conditions: Started at 48 with 7 mph winds. We got sprinkled on twice. One of those was with high winds. I didn't stop to put on my rain jacket as I dried out between showers. The wind picked up to blow us home. Though a couple of places sidewinds made me swerve. |

| Weather Conditions: 48° to start with light winds. The big downhill seemed to be against the wind, but it shouldn't have been too strong. Seemed to have a headwind on LV Blvd, but trees and flags were limp. |
