Holy Cow Man!! I thought you were still buried under 2' of snow. I am ashamed. I have to stop traveling and stay home so I can ride......

Hey Captain America! Thanks for leaving a comment, and congrats on hitting 8000 miles! I guess I was only 4 spots from you 2 weeks ago but it's been raining for 3 weeks straight with temps in the 40s and I started MBA classes this month... top 100 is looking out of reach now but I think you should be able to get it! As for Czech ancestors, I will ask my girlfriend who is Czech and knows more people here than I do.

History:
|
First bike was a 'junk yard beauty' put together by my Great-Uncle Ray. He would go to the city dump and collect all these discarded bikes and build bikes for all us kids out of the parts he could salvage. Each one was unique! Mine even ended up in the city compound. My uncle and cousin borrowed it one day and was riding it around town (during school hours). They got caught and the bike was empounded. It was always so cool to see 150 bikes parked outside of the school (and not a lock on any of them) and having mine standout. My 2nd bike was a Montgomery Wards I got for Christmas. I took it out on Christmas day for a ride (in Wisconsin) when a lady opened her car door, so the bike was 'broke' in the hard way! I used that bike on my paper route until it finally wore out. So I bought my 3rd bike, a Schwinn 3 speed, for $36.00 brand new, (yes that dates me doesn't it). This bike became my escape to freedom and adventure of the open rode. |
