Rider Comments: |
First rode with RustyRoadie in January 2004. We met in a parking lot of a mall, made our introductions and off we went on a wonderful tour of Albuquerque, to places I would have never seen on my own. Six months later we meet again in Great Falls, MT, for the Pre Reunion Rides. As we rode on Thursday under the bright Montanna sky, I said to him, "I'm glad you're here." He replied, "So am I." Within hours, he was lying in a hospital bed after a serious mishap on the way back to the starting point. He had all of us worried. He spent a week in the hospital in Great Falls, before he and Beth made the trip back home. Who would have thought back then he would be able to do the Tour de Tucson in November? He did it and faster than the year before. A great comeback RustyRoadie! I look forward to riding with you again in January 2006.

Phil is one of those "steady as he goes" kind of riders. Quiet, unassuming, yet always there when you need him. He and Beth are great folks who enjoy their travels around the country. This guy doesn't let major accidents keep him from attending any RU's either. More power to him.

Rusty and Beth, you are the king of BJ reunions!!. '08 makes 4 now. We (Jane & I) first met you in '06, then '07 in New York. and now again for RU08. You are one great rider!!! Your quiet style really dosn't give a hint to your love of cycling. Glad you brought the tandem SWEET!! You and Beth enjoy that grandson.

History:
|
I bought my first "10-speed" road bike in college in 1969. After owning three 10-speeds, I started getting more serious around 1998, then upgraded to the LeMond Zurich in 2001. In 2004 we bought our Burley tandem - and my wife, RustyStoker, really enjoys riding and nature-watching on the tandem. |
