It was also good to meet you at RU10 century ride. You are right on about the great riding in your neck of the woods. If ever in the Champlain Valley or Adirondack Mountains of New York, be sure to get in touch. You will find great riding up here, too. BTW, I enjoy your spirit. My motto: Wear out, don't rust out!

That was a very nice profile in the winter 2013/14 Spokes. I think they thought I wasn't interesting enough when they interviewed me last year.

Zola...congrats on you new ride. We are heading to FL the end of March for a weeklong ride--Bike FL and then back down again in April for Bike Safari. I really want to do Cap2Cap this year. I haven't been able to do it the past 3 years. We did the Grand Fondo in Richmond last year and it was good..our first grand fondo. Maybe just some where we will meet! Have a good year..

Thanks for the invite but the plan (TBD) for that time span is to try and do the Pacific coast bike route to complete the "big five". Like yourself tend to see myself as an "endurance recreational cyclist" much preferring a century ride (11 so far this year despite the cold weather) to chasing the speedsters. Will pass on the ride info. Good riding. Larry

I just saw your comment... Never received one before so I wasn't looking for it and saw it by accident. Glad to be a source of motivation, but that wasn't my intent... Hope to meet you at a RABA ride or function. Best wishes--Bob

What can I say, I LOVE TO RIDE!!! If I am not working, then I am out riding. I consider myself an endurance rider. Centuries are my passion. Central Virginia is a cyclist's paradise -- lots of great roads, challenging climbs, minimal traffic and awesome weather. I became a Grandmother in Aug 2012, and my Sweet Girl lives in Midlothian VA - so that is now my favorite ride -- Lynchburg to RVA! 2021 - I now have 3 Hooligans living in Midlothian - I love riding around there and Powhatan :)

Tandem Road bike

We purchased this bike when we lived in the mid-west -- it is a speed machine on the flats, and a challenge in the hills -- especially for the STOKER! My Captain and I try to ride "the tandem" at least once a month. Sunday's used to be our tandem day until my husband discovered mountain biking. We no longer ride the tandem -- we prefer to "STAY MARRIED" -- maybe one day she will roll again :)
