History:

Rode in the late 70s on all Campy Raleigh International with Reynolds steel tubes with full Campy Record components. I spent every college dollar I had to get the bike at Cambridge Cycle on Bow Street in Cambridge Mass.

Rode that bike all over Boston and New England. Last 30 years mostly rode with 4 kids on a bike seat on the back of a hybrid or hauling them in a Cannondale rickshaw. Got started again on the roadbike in Nov 2008. Initial goal was 25miles at 15mph pace. Now up to 70+ at 20+ (no paceline) or 23-25 with. Considered joining the remedial race team at suggestion of club buddies - but at 55 yrs+ hate the idea of a career ending crash. Do mostly club "social rides" which always seem to end up being hammerfests.

My older 3 kids and I do charity rides throughout the US for Diabetes and other good causes. Favorite is Malama Pono Ride for health education in Kauai in August - beautiful and tough. Did Tour de Rouge 530 miles Houston to NO in May of 2012. In late 2009 tried cyclocross racing and the WCC Mtn Bike rides in Huntsville. Love both - nice way to break up the road grind and improve bike skills.
