Congrats on what you are doing! I continually try to get my non-exercising friends to get bikes...they just don't realize how much better it makes you feel. I'll be keeping up with your progress.

Thanks, Man! You do the same, enjoy the ride!

It's good to hear you are happy with the Brooks experience. I think it's a little of both; kind of like new government leadership. We adjust to it while it adjusts to us. If the B68 is the one with springs, I think it may stay hard for life unless you ride the heck out of it. Have fun and stay safe.

Thanks for the encouraging note on my profile! I hope you enjoy every mile you ride and get to the goals you have set for yourself. Glad to see you are now on a leather saddle, too. If we could only get you on a fully lugged steel frame and into wearing wool....

Us 'clydesdales', need to stick together! I too am looking for my inner 180 pound cyclist. I used to weigh two of them. Being car-free has helped me the most and joining a local cycling club, is another step in the right direction. Keep up the good work!

Hey there... thanks for the kind words! I started out at 285lbs, and am currently at 202lbs. I feel great, I love riding, and I never want to go back to being that large and unhealthy again!!! I promise you, you can do it!!! You have already lost a great deal it appears, so you are already well on your way. Keep at it, and don't give up. If you develop a passion for the cycling, it will get easier and easier, and you will go farther and longer, which will amount to more and more and more calories burned!!! Go for it It is so much fun to see and feel the results, and to watch the weight come off your own body!!! Good luck to you, and happy weight loss!!!

Hi, FMOAB! I've been off the bike a lot since May, 2010, because I had 7 (yes, SEVEN) liver surgeries pretty much back-to-back. But I ride when I can and have put in a few miles in between surgeries and raindrops. I feel good. Let's make a deal: you keep on keeping on and so will I!
Oops! Almost forgot: My Brooks saddle is on my "city bike" and still does not have enough miles on it to make it tolerable for much more than 30 miles at a time. Durned thing!

Hey big man - hang tough. You can do this. Two years ago I was 243, now I'm at 195. During the summer I'll get down to about 185. Gotta expect a little winter "bounce". I see you and I are always close on miles. I plan to pass you soon... ya better clip in and get going! I'm on your wheel !
