I began cycling as an adult in 2000 in an effort to lose weight. I lost the weight and kept cycling for fun and commuting. I now am feeling a pull toward the advocacy side of the sport. As such I have started the BikeWashington club on BikeJournal.com, I moderate on the Yahoo! groups BikeWashingtonDC and co_Towpath, subscribe to the Yahoo! groups bicyclingadvocacy, bikelanedebate, CyclistsAgainstBikeLanes, and chainguard, and I periodically lead rides for BikeWashington and Rainier Riders. In 2008 I left the DC Metro area and moved to Greensboro, NC. As of February 2010 I joined the board of directors of Bicycling in Greensboro http://bikegso.org
