2011 will be my seventh year of riding. I've made good progress riding year round and have taken up cycle touring. Last year took a 10-day trip to Bratislava and several smaller overnighters. Hope to do more of that this year. My biggest breakthrough in 2010 was finding a good route to commute to work. As a result, I commuted more than 100 days (23 kilometers each way) and plan to try to double that in 2011. My annual total for 2010 was a personal best by a long shot because of the commuting. From May to November, I had seven straight 1,000k months. I'll set my goal for 2011 at 10,000 and see what happens.
2010 is my sixth year of riding. Am trying to be a year-round rider, but the ice this winter made it hard. This year plan to focus on unsupported touring. Have a new Trek hardtail mountain bike set up for touring and plan a three-week tour through the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the end of May/beginning of June. Hope to get over 5,000 k this year, will shoot for 6,000. In late April, I discovered a safe route from home to work and have begun bike commuting! We'll see how that goes.... |

Description: Bought this bike new on September 17, 2010, after my yellow KHS died.
Serviced on August 23, 2011 at 7,908.3 km. Go back after 1,000. Serviced again on October 18, 2011 at 8,828.7 -- replaced bottom bracket, cranks, chain. Spring checkup, new chain, at 10,700 kilometers on April 18, 2012. Service on July 24, 2012 at 11,666. Basic service on May 16, 2013 -- new chain and adjustments, nothing else. Odo at 13,443. Service on Sept. 6, 2013 -- new chain, brake pads. Odo at 14,884.
