I started mountain biking about 10 years ago, but was too afraid to ride on the roads. But I finally got talked into it in 2004, and rode my first century on September 11, 2004 in the Tri-States 100 (Dothan, AL.) My second century was October 2004- the Horse Farm 100 in Gainesville, Fl (or as I like to refer to it, the Trail of Tears).
In February 2005, I competed in the Bike Sebring 12/24 hours, logging 146 miles in 12 hours. In October 2005, I rode two centuries- the Spaghetti 100 in Tallahassee, and Horse Farm again in Gainesville.
In January 2006, I completed my first brevet- a 200km in Clermont. I also tried Sebring again, without much luck because of a migraine and neck pain.
In April 2006, I was honored to participate in the first-ever 180 Energy Ride For Survival, a 12 day, 1100 mile tour of the state of Florida. Please see the website for details.
July 2006- Clermont 200K brevet
August 2006- "Tour de Guava" Tampa 200K brevet
October 2006- Spaghetti 100 (Tallahassee) and Horse Farm Hundred (Gainesville)
2007- Sebring 12 Hour Race: 173.5 miles in 12 hours. 3rd place F35-39. A new personal best.
2007 180 SAFE Ride- Mar/Apr 2007, Tallahassee to Miami and back to Tampa.
August 2007- Tri-States 100 - Davie's first century!
October 2007- Spaghetti 100
Nov 2007- "Road to Responsibility Challenge" 12 hours, 147 miles from Tallahassee to Gainesville to spotlight the issues of DUI and underage drinking.
2008- Blue Line Century (Metric) Lori's first metric! |
