2005 was my first full year of riding. I did not reach my goal of 10,000 miles. 2005 mileage = 8,653 miles. This year my goal will be 6,000 miles. Why less? Well because now I know what I want to do as a cyclist. 2005's goal was just a number I picked out of the blue without any previous riding experience. Plus I still need to have time left over to do a little lifting at the gym and other sports activities that I enjoy.
2006 was a fun year on the road. My mileage was 7,380 miles. I surpased my goal of 6,000 miles.
For 2007, my goal will be 5,000 miles since I want to get a little more climbing in and increase my speed plus still put in some gym work in also.
Last year I dealt with a right leg injury/nagging pain for the better part of the year. Managed to keep it a secret from the club else the guys would of purposely hammered me. LOL. Been doing weights and stretching exercises to get rid of the groin and hip pain. I originally injuried/pulled my groin while boxing with a friend. Go figure. Looks like it's working, well see once I start hammering big miles again. I ended up with 7406 miles in 2007. For 2008, my goal will be to reach 7,000 miles again along with hitting the gym on a more consistent basis. Oh yea..I almost forgot. I lost 20lbs in 2007 and kept it off!!
Had alot of fun and success in 2008 on the bike...then came the wreck in October with a parked car. My riding when down the tube. My knee just hasnt been right yet. Started out 2009 fairly slow but I'm slowly progressing.
Well 2009 was a wash..my knee just was never the same after the crash. But 2010 is a new year and I feel good again |
