History:

I first caught the cycling bug while living on Rottnest Island where cycling was the only form of private transport but didnt keep good track of my mileage. The Island was about 27km around which made a great start to the day and there was a weekly handicapped event among the permanent residents.
I started cycling again 10 years after leaving Rottnest Island, at the beginning of 2006 for fitness/weight management with a daily commute to work and no intention of getting into anything competitive.
I am still commuting (although now doing a longer ride on the return leg to boost mileage) and have joined Audax Australia and am enjoying randonneuring as a sport.
