Started serious cycling back in 1972 when I bought my first 10 speed, a Schwinn Super Sport. In 1975 I rode my first multi-day ride, 1000+ miles solo from central MI to upper MN. After joining the USMC and moving to HI, put cycling on hold for several years until discharge in 1980. Rode a 2000+ mile solo ride from MI to FL. Since then have cycled more miles that can count in most states east of the Mississippi. Have ridden numerous multi day event rides including VA(20), FL(35), MI(5), 45 other states, 4 Canadian Providences and Spain. Goal is to rise all 50 states with my wife, only AK and HI to go. I was married during BikeVA 2006 at the first rest stop the last day.
