Mountain Biking rules! It's great! I like it. Pretty much any scenario is cool with me. However, I particularly like riding anywhere that's a little bit off the beaten path, and a little unpredictable. I like self-supported trips. I like supported trips. I'm a new student of the 29'er revolution. I like single speed riding. Road biking also rules! I ride to the farm on weekends. I commute 8km to work.
Lest I mention that riding with friends is still the best, both old friends and new, my wife and kids included.
My Cycling History circa 2009:
10 years being a kid on a bike (flipping off camaros and peddling faster than I knew I could). who hasn't.
-8 years not owning a bike (seriously....) 2 years attempting to skateboard --------- oh.... then I remembered how much fun cycling is......!!! 8 years Mountain biking, 4 years racing, 3 year commuting, 1 bike related trip to the hospital for landing on my left cheek (face), 1 head-on collision with another commuter (he had no brakes), 1 collision with an Audi, 1 slow roll over a rattlesnake, 1 weekend lost in a bog because we thought that snowmobile trail maps would suffice...lol, 1 punctured Greater Sapheneous vein (socks do make decent tourniquets!), Tons of wonderful rides- and many more to come!! |
