I've been riding road bikes since 2004, beginning with a Trek 1000, then a 5200, and now a Project One 5.2 SL. I have no aspirations of being a racer--I ride strictly for fun. I've completed about a dozen century rides, including the Cactus Hugger, and the double metric, Tour De Fire. I enjoy hill climbing and even did the Mt. Charleston Hill Climb a few years ago. Currently, I do most of my miles in the Red Rock area, or in the residential hills of Sun City. Poorodie's famous quote: "THE HILLS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!"
After a few years, and nearly 27,000 miles, my Project One developed a small crack in the paint (barely visible to the naked eye). My friendly Trek dealer promptly apologized and replaced my frame with a new Series 6 Madone! No more flaming paintjob, but nonetheless an awesome frame! Great bike--brings more joy to daily riding. |
