I've biked since I was 3 or 4 and it's always been one of my favorite passtimes. I did a lot of mountain biking in High School and college, then I didn't get out much for the last few years. I picked up an old Super-V and now I'm trying to get out on a solid ride at least once a month now. In the spring of 2006, I started commuting 6 miles to work, at least 3 times a week. I converted my GT mountain bike in to my commuter and rode that for 2 years. I would get so saddle sore after 3 consecutive days, that it was hard to find the motivation to finish out the week. I knew I wanted a recumbent for commuting, so after getting rid of my car, and riding solidly for 2 years, I convinced the wife to let me buy my trike. I love that thing, and now regularly ride 4-5 days each week. It's great in the snow and I ride year round, which isn't always easy in Utah.
I've lost 25 lbs. and it feels great to be in decent shape year round. |
