History:

used bike to get around my neighborhood when I was a kid. As I got older, the neighborhood just kept getting bigger. Completed my first century and Rode Ragbrai for the first time while in college, that really expanded the 'hood! Dabbled a bit in racing, first on the track, then on the road, and then officiated for several years. Nowadays, trying to find a common ground between miles and smiles per mile. I am fortunate to live in an area with hundreds of miles of paved roads to explore, should keep me busy for quite a while! Happy pedaling, shout out if you should see me on a ride!

	1980 Jeffrey Bock road racing Road bike
	Description: dark blue with silver highlights, & red decals. Met the builder on Ragbrai '76. Jeff does some of the nicest lugwork I've seen. Updated in'07 with 9spd Ultegra shifters & Dura Ace crank & shimano Look pedals from another bike. Still has 1980 Campy brakes. Lifetime Odometer: 519.3 miles

	1999 Trek 5500 USPS Road bike
	Description: 1999 Postal team bike Shimano compact crank, mostly Dura Ace components. used now primarily as trainer bike,and at the '07 Hilly Hundred while my Madone was in shop, and occasionally, by my son. Lifetime Odometer: 7,675.0 miles

	2005 Trek Madone SL 5.2 Road bike
	Description: Madone SL, Cloud 9 Project One paint job, Ultegra components, Control Tech ergo bars, Aliente saddle, Bontrager wheels. Looks nice, rides that way too! Lifetime Odometer: 32,103.2 miles

	Description: Black & white, Ultegra Sl groupo, Winwood carbon bars, FSA stem, Bontrager RL saddle, Ksyrium Elite wheels, Fulcrum Racing Zeros for races, centuries & other special events. Makes the 5.2 SL seem slow! Lifetime Odometer: 34,048.7 miles

	1985 Schwinn Paramount Road bike
	Description: Neon Orchid (lt purple) originally set up with the then new Dura Ace-7spd sis, pretty much as the Schwinn-Icy Hot team road them to 1985 USPRO victory. It is now used for fixed gear riding. Lifetime Odometer: 206.7 miles

	1986 Cannondale R400? Road bike
	Description: Seafoam green, was a team issue frame from the Bicycle Specialties/Rockbrook Schwinn race team days. Won '87 USCF Nebr matched sprints on this frame using Dura Ace 6 spd components and Mavic Gold tubular rims. Used for shorter rides as the stiff frame & rough Nebraska roads did not make for a very comfortable ride! Lifetime Odometer: 281.9 miles

	1988 Schwinn Velodyne Road bike
	Description: Schwinn's (Frontline Technologies) version of the computer road simulator indoor training platform. Although the display is now primitive by Computrainer standards, road resistance is on par. Allows custom created courses, as well as several pre-programmed courses. Also can simulate pursuit races on the track- good for fitness testing & max HR assessment. Lifetime Odometer: 50,000.0 miles
