Greetings,
Anyone from northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin or anywhere else interested in getting together and doing a century ride?

This ride would take you through several small towns/villages in 3 counties: Stephenson, JoDaviess and Carroll counties that are somewhat hilly! Did I say hills? Yep, and some with spectacular views, one which has a 15% grade.

If you think you might be interested in doing this fabulous century, getting together with a few others; e-mail me (buddy list me) and I can send you a map and detailed directions. The roads are marked. This will take place Saturday, September 22nd.

I wanted to see how much interest there might be in just getting a group of us together and ride for the sheer pleasure of riding!

Depending on the date, Pat and I would be interested. The Pedal Across The Prairie ride is on 9/16 and DLF is planning another Summer Cycling Series ride around then. Also, I think that the Leaf Peeper's Tour ride in Elisabeth, IL is on 9/16 or there abouts. If fact, the ride you are describing sounds a lot like the Leaf Peepers Tour.

I am interested depending on the date also. Please advise and I am sure I can pull 3-4 more people in to do it.

GTD,
No, it is not the Leaf Peepers Tour. This route does not go that far west as Elizabeth, but we do go through the small village of Stockton.

Tiff,
I am not sure how far it would be for you? I do not remember what town/city your are from. The ride would start out in Freeport Illinois. This would not be considered an 'organized' ride.
This is an on your own kind of ride...just some of us gathering together just for fun and to ride and enjoy.

Spongebob,
A date has not yet been set (for sure) At this time it is 'tentatively' scheduled for Sept.22. But -if need be, we can change that...this is just to see if there is any interest at all, then we'll take it from there.
Okay, how does that sound?

It's a possibility for me too. GTD, would this take the place of our Lake Geneva century?

Did: It could.

Or, we could do the Lake Geneva loop another weekend.

Or, we could start in Richmond, loop Lake Geneva, and then ride over to Freeport for the century.

Or, we could finish the century and then ride over to loop Lake Geneva.

What's an extra double-metric on top of a century amoung friends? About 124 miles before or after a hundred miles I guess. I feel exhausted just typing that, let alone riding it.
