I woke up Thursday with a dry cough, the kind that hits you so fast you don't have time to cover your mouth. The kind of cough that gets worse every time you cough.
Friday I started to get hot and sweaty spells in between cold spells. This sucked really bad because I was planning to go for a long bike ride after work. It also sucks because I don't get sick very often. I just went to bed.
On Saturday my energy was gone and I stayed in bed all day, except to eat. I didn't eat much because this flu bug has screwed up my taste buds, and everything I've tried to eat tastes really bad. So, I haven't eaten much, but strangely, I don't feel hungry.
The National Geographic Channel entertained me with a full day NASA and space exploration programming.
So here it is, Sunday morning. The cough is getting better, my energy is slowly returning but I'm still in bed.
I really want to try to go for a ride, even if it's just around the block.
From what I read, this flu bug lasts 4 to 7 days.
Hopefully mine is the 4 day version.
UPDATE:
After finally eating something, and tired of living in bed, I went outside to help with the yard work.
No heavy lifting but I felt OK enough to rake and watch leaves burn.
It was a perfect day for riding (again), and I almost took the 3 speed Sting-Ray for a ride around the block. But I was still quite low on strength and energy.
Being sick sucks.
