Ride Description: Makwa, end to end. From Mosquito Brook Trail Head.
Got to ride the new Boardwalk, Kool.
There's some new singletrack where you ride the Birkie Trail, it's not finished, but still Kool.

It took me 2 hours to get to "OO", a 5.9 avg.
Rode .3 "parking lot miles" for my quarter. Once again, I saw the couple from Phillips. At the same spot! On the Birkie Trail.

25 miles of sweet Makwa singletrack. (Out from Mosquito Brook trail Head to "OO" Trail Head and back.)
What a great trail.

Photo #1... One of the nice armored sections.

Photo #2... There's plenty of rocks for some nice armoring... and a lot of rock piles.

Photo #3... Some nice bench cut work.

Photo #4... The new boardwalk.

Photo #5... The boardwalk from the other direction.

Photo #6... Hey, my 10 second timer works!

Photo #7... Most of the rocks have been removed from the trail, resulting in some very large piles of rocks.

Photo #8... A couple of the many Cairns that line the Makwa Trail.

Photo #9... It's not a good ride 'til someone is bleeding... It was a good ride.

Photo #10... Makwa scenery.

Photo #11... The lonesome trailside Trillium.

Every bit as nice as where I was today Craig...that is beautiful looking riding. Maybe tomorrow I'll post a pic of my hip-met-sandstone bruise. Uhh...err...Maybe not.

You'd love this trail, not technical, but very fun. Nowhere near the climbing you're used to... Oh... My incident was not as manly as yours... I stopped to take a picture of a flower, had a little mud in my cleat... I fall over when my shoe doesn't release... When I got up off the ground, I picked up my bike and slung my big chainring into my shin. Doh!

Kraig, When we come down from Janesville to eat at Boone County Cafe(?) we take Qail Trap to 140(?)& drop south a mile. If I had really bothered to look at map closely, I would have seen how we could get on Wyman School without having to ride on Caledonia rd! Oh well. Lon, His daughter & son in law saw us leave Poplar Grove going north, Got to Clinton & couldn't figure out why they hadn't caught/passed us! Kinda got a chuckle out of that! I would have gotten an even bigger charge out of being able to hold them off outright!
I'm wondering how many times I passed by that dinosaur before I finally saw it, & when I did, I about locked the brakes up to go back & have Carol take that picture! Take care, ride safe!
