Ride Description: After riding the Stone Bridge Trail, I thought I'd check out the conditions for my first singletrack ride of the year.
Conditions were perfect for the first quarter mile or so. The trails got a bit soft on the section along the creek. Not as many hikers out that far, and the track was only about 6 inches wide, and very bumpy. If you got off the tracks, you sunk into the snow and would come to a quick stop.

I "crashed" once, when my front tire dug into the snow and stopped, I almost went over the bars.
But the snow was very soft. :)
There were even a couple frozen water crossings.

HR time includes 6 minutes of rest, taking pictures.

Wow! What a nice ride on the Stone Bridge Trail today!
The snowmobiles have packed what's left of the snow to an easy riding icy hard pack, and the farther north you go, the less snow and more rocks and ice there is.

I explored the Kinstone Recreational Path too. Nice scenery as it follows the stream to the bridge at Elevator Road in Roscoe.

When I got back to my car I noticed a yellow post-it sheet of paper on my car window. It read:
"Thanks for running your F@#*ing bike thru the CC tracks!"
My response to this would be...
You've got to be kidding! CC tracks? It's a multi use trail shared with freakin' SNOWMOBILES! If you think a snowmobile trail that is mostly ice and rocks is a good place to CC ski, please contact me, and I'll direct you to some REAL Cross Country Ski trails.
It had to be a joke.

Besides, Any evidence I saw, that could be confused with CC Tracks was about 50 feet of barely visible ski marks. If you've ever cross country skied, you'd never mistake those marks for "CC ski tracks".
And, I wouldn't intentionally mess up ski tracks anyway.
Oh yeah, I also saw another set of bike tire tracks in the snow.

I may go back and get in a few more laps next time. It was a good workout.

This trail is very smooth, short, fast, easy and kinda fun in the Summer, but it's quite the slow, bumpy workout in the Winter.

It seems that in every endeavor there is a self-important hierarchy of Holier-than-Thou-ness.
