I left home on the Surly with both panniers on it. I stopped by church as the Release Time bus was there and checked how it was going. I saw Mid and Sally and stopped to talk to Sally for a minute and Johnnie came by as well. I went on down East North Street and when I took the lane going down the hill so that I could get the left turn lane, a car came flying up and passed me in the bicycle lane. I was running over 30 mph, so he was running 40 to 45 mph. I tried to find Bill's shortcut and got lost again. But I ended up going by Clark's Heritage again. Bill called just about the time that I went by the DMV, but once I was at Pleasantburg the road noise was so loud that I couldn't hear him. I made it to McAlister Square and the Covid testing center was full up again. I rode through Gower Estates and Velo Apartments to Verdae and took the trail to Embassey Suites and cut across to the ICAR then over to Petco.
Monday and Tuesday are the kittens at Petco. They are more playful than last week, but they don't want to be hold or petted. I stopped at REI and talked to one of the bicycle guys, then I went to Whole Foods.. I bought two loaves of bread, two bags of cauliflower pretzels, a blueberry muffin for Cissi, and a small container of paleo braised beef.
I left Whole Foods and rode back by JL Mann and St Joe's High Schools and back to Cleveland Park. I rode up the trail to the Commons, then went over to Washington at the USPS and back through town and to the zoo lot. I took my normal route home and stopped on Hillside to talk to Pat and his nephew Mike. Then I rode on home.
