| Weather Conditions: Not much wind, the headwind on the way home wasn't as bad as I've been in. About 75°, tons of smoke in the air from people burning paper offerings so their ancestors will send them good fortune, enough sun that I got a bit of a sunburn. |
| Ride Description: First metric of the year, 3rd flat. River Loop, Dadaocheng, end, headed toward the zoo...very cool little road, and found some new bike paths which when completed will be great. Apparently when I got off road I picked up something in my front tire, but never did find it when I ran my finger through the tire over and over again. Got enough air in to get me back on the road. Wait, have I lost my way, oops, turn around, see if the gas station can pump my tire. Nope, wrong valve, me with no adapter, so I pump again. Finally got going the right way, got back to Dadaocheng Wharf and Maurice, one of our favorite bike shop guys. So, wrong valve again, but Maurice pumped in more air than I got, so I made it home. Cramped a couple times, stopped and stretched, drank and ate a few walnuts. Drank some pickle juice when I got home. Great metric, lousy attitude on the way home! |
