 The Lingering Parade.
The creative juices just weren't flowing tonight, but I did get a few things accomplished.
I decided to keep almost all of the ghost vocal (at least for now), it has a certain character that I'm not sure if I can recapture, yet. I also fixed a couple flat notes (and left a couple in. ) I got a couple harmony vocal parts recorded in the 2nd and 4th verses, but I'm drawing a blank on what to do with the chorus. (The Come Frosty... part.)

I tried my cheapo squeezebox accordion, dozens of different sounds on the synthesizer, a choir sound, and harmonica. I recorded the harmonica, and it sounds OK, but it's not a perfect fit, so it might not stay.

I've got a few more ideas to try on Tuesday night. I'll see if another acoustic guitar and bongos will add the magic ingredient.

I also discovered, after repeated listens, that I need to fix an acoustic guitar in the very end of the song that is just off the beat enough to bug me every time I hear it.

I think I'll use my tiny video cam and record a rough mix or actual recording just to give you all a glimpse into my strange world of creating music with very little musical talent.
It could prove to be very entertaining.
Then I'll post a link to it.

Until then, here are the brilliant lyrics, penned by Joe Fasula.
He's my personal Pete Sinfield.

The Lingering Parade

No magic rather measured madness in its way
Steeped in lore half the fuel and half the hay
So its you so special but perfectly buckled
Yet when you speak everyone seems to follow

They said hey can’t you feel the luminous cold
& that the clouds could heed them what they wanted
In times gone by they burned a mass of candles
And set upon a succession of lingering parades

Come Frosty and Crystal come Sunny and Halo

Top hats at hand seer of seers, sage of sage
Perchance a pause to reflect upon prediction
Possessing the power to give or dash all hope
It can make you strong or a wish that fades away

They said hey can’t you feel the luminous cold
& that the clouds could heed them what they wanted
In times gone by they burned a mass of candles
And set upon a succession of lingering parades

Come Frosty and Crystal come Sunny and Halo

Tornado Typhoon and a butterfly moon mere shadows to the Sun…
Windy runs fast Winter lingers it lasts as sure as Celsius was born…
Clear blustery peak progression six weeks left for Frosty, Crystal, Sunny and Halo…

Since the song is about Groundhog's Day, (I had to ask Joe what it was about. Did you figure it out?) And that day is coming up, I have a little incentive to finish the song in a week.
