| Ride Description: Holy maloley, tried Ralph's new hill past Takyshimaya. Had to walk, went up a ways, turned around and flew down the hill. Far too many dogs up there and way too steep for me. Then went up Cherry Hill...made it without getting off, but tried to hack up my lungs at the top. Froze coming down the hill so I came back home to get my jacket and log these miles before I go out again. |

| Weather Conditions: Windy, very windy...headwinds both ways. What else is new? Chilly once we lost the sun. Dark clouds with spitting rain developed as we neared Guandu. |
| Ride Description: A leisurely ride with Karen J. to Guandu and back. Bike paths were pretty busy, and once we got to Guandu we saw why. In typical Chinese fashion, to celebrate Chinese New Year, there were numerous stalls set up on the street next to the bike path. All the stinky tofu you could eat and smell! And people? Throngs. We decided not to go over the bridge, as there were throngs of throngs out by the temple. I was pretty patient with the crowds, and eventually Karen developed a bit of patience as well. Note to self...do not go out on the paths in the afternoon! |
