Weather Conditions: A bit warm, must have been close to 80 again. WINDY!!! Blue sky, some whit clouds.
Ride Description: Solo Saturday while Karen is in the states at Space Camp. Started off nearly getting hit by a car whose driver turned left in front of me as I was moving through a green light. Quick reflexes, good brakes kept me out of harm's way. I had already decided to make this a bike path day because I wanted miles. I had planned on going to the zoo, or at least to the arches, but about 2 miles after I passed the tunnel of trees there were tons of bikers. And before long I found out why. Yes, there was a huge bike gathering, complete with media and people making announcements. I have become too Chinese...even though I have no idea what events are going on, I generally find them, even though I don't want to.

I turned around and headed back, into a pretty good headwind. That didn't stop me from "racing" a few blokes, though. One stayed behind me for quite awhile, but he finally had to admit defeat. Even though I was on the bike path, I gave myself a good workout. My scale said 2.5 pounds less than when I left this morning, and I even drank plenty of water. Too bad it goes back on so quickly.
