Ride Description: From Cabin... Namakagon / Patsy Lake Loop. Shorter cut-off after Patsy Lake.
CAMBA trail work day. Worked on Seeley Pass, adding some plastic erosion mats on some steep sections. We'll see how it works. That trail is beautiful and has a monster long up to "OO".

Seeley Pass is one of CAMBA's new singletrack trails.
I joined a large group of volunteers, and assisted in some "tweeking" of a few spots of the new trail.
There are a few spots that are more than the IMBA recommended 10% maximum grade, so we put in some plastic "honeycomb" in the trail tread. Hopefully, this will minimize erosion caused by skidding. We'll see if it works. If not, a re-route may be in order.
Seeley Pass continues the CAMBA pattern of having each new trail a little different than all the others.
Seeley Pass has the same sweet flow and lack of technical rock features like the Makwa, but it has the biggest, longest and steepest climbs in the CAMBA system. And the scenery is spectacular.
Right now, the trail is just over 5 miles long. And, it is a Two-Way trail. If you want to avoid climbing the longest, steepest section on the return to the "OO" Trail Head, instead of riding it as an out and back, take a right on Boedecker Road (Gravel/Dirt/Sand) where the trail ends (for now), and then another right at Janet Road (also gravel/dirt/sand) and ride back to County "OO" (Take a left up the hill to the parking lot) or take the last section of singletrack back to the "OO" Trail Head.
When finished, this trail connect the Makwa trail to the Ojibwe trail near the Telemark Lodge.
