Ride Description: From R.O.F.P. The wind in the park was brutal, but it was pretty nice once I got warmed up on the trail. Towards Roscoe the conditions were firmer and icier.
Towards the Long Prairie Trail conditions were too soft for the studs, not as much snowmobile traffic. Man, I wish I had my Mukluk, I felt like riding a lot longer.
I did see one snowmobile today. (Same one twice.)
HR Avg. includes 22 minutes of rest. I forgot to turn it off until I got home. |

I went over and rode the Stone Bridge Trail from Roland Olson Forest Preserve to Rockton Road and back.
Conditions were pretty good for my Nokian Extreme 294's. The trail was mostly hard pack snow, (Perfect conditions for the Mukluk I'm waiting for) and got icier as the trail reached the Rockton area.
I tried to go east towards the Long Prairie Trail, but with less snowmobile traffic that direction, the snow conditions were much more suited for big, fat tires, and my feet were just starting to get cold, so I called it a day.
It was nice to get in a Thermometer Ride, 12° when I started, I rode 16.05 miles, and it was 16° when I got back to the car.
I did see one snowmobile today, the same one twice. No dog walkers today.
