Ride Description: Oh, what a fun ride this one was. And a second ride in one day? Too cool. Headed out to find some dumplings since I was starving...missed the turn for my fave ones so I looked for the ones at Tienmu North. Hmmm, no dumplings. So, headed out along the dike and back out to Dadaocheng Wharf. Saw Ralph who was on his way back after a short ride, so we had a short chat. Headed out again, and stopped at a mart similar to 7 Eleven and grabbed some goodies to tide me over. On the way back, I had stopped to watch a semi-aboriginally dressed guy perform some sort of ceremony along the river and a blue streak found its way into my periperal vision. So...took off after him, although I wasn't trying for any great speed increases today, finally caught him as he slowed for a bunch of bikers being videotaped for posterity. He was cool, had to race me for awhile, then proceeded to tell me (in Mandarin and gestures) about the 2004 triathlon where he came in 3rd place. After snapping his photo, he turned around and went back, and I continued on. At the green bridge where I have to walk the bike up stairs, I saw the recumbant guy...had a great chat, he invited me to bike with him tomorrow, I declined gracefully, then headed up the bridge and home. (where I didn't get clipped out in time and had to grab the security guard's arm to keep from keeling over.) What a great time!
