| Weather Conditions: WIND...headwinds with really strong gusts. Temp 59° F, 15° C, partly cloudy with some nice blue sky and puffy white clouds. Did I mention the wind? |
| Ride Description: Bloody wind! It's time to get off this island. Headed up past the Nat'l Palace Museum, turned around not far from the bottom of the steep climb because the headwind was making me work harder than necessary and the road was a bit wet. Got down to the second stoplight and had a flat rear tire. Oh goody. But...got the new tube in and pumped up well with the mini pump. Had one Chinese biker stop and see if I needed help. Assured him I could handle it, thanked him profusely and sent him on his way. The whole process was the smoothest it's ever been for me, even with stuggling to get the new tire off one side of the rim. Even got the tire seated properly the first time. So from there I went to Dershing so I could do another hill, then Tienmou, stopped at school and got most of the grease off my hands, then did a river loop with the shortcut, since I couldn't take the freaking wind any longer. Thailand is sounding good at this point! |
