Ride Description: This was a much needed mental health personal day no school for me. Went out to Bali and back. Meandered, not out for speed, just out for some respite from stress. It was lovely, not too many people out, rain never materialized, wind wasn't terrible. After I got off the bike path at the Guandu Temple, a Chinese road biker blew by me. I hit the gas and eventually caught up to him, drafted for a bit, but then he slowed down too much for me. I passed him and kept my speed up, so he tucked in behind me. We played that for a couple of miles...he staying behind me and me pushing it more than I had for the entire ride. I pulled to the right at one point to see what he would do at a bridge, he slingshotted past me to where I was heading in the first place. He did not get far ahead of me, and as we reached our eventually parting spot, there were waves and smiles all around. I thanked him and smiled all the way home. (via the bike shop where I purchased a new saddle.)
